10 photos

Issue Reported

The existing gantry barrier at Tanglin Regency had reached end-of-life and required replacement with a new automatic barrier system to restore reliable vehicle access control at the condominium entrance.

Site Findings

On-site assessment confirmed the existing barrier unit was faulty and needed full replacement. The driveway required a new induction loop to be cut and sealed into the stone pavers, and a new control cabinet, boom arm and vehicle loop detector needed to be installed and wired into the guardhouse power supply.

Job Scope

  • Remove existing faulty gantry barrier unit
  • Supply and install new ESE-branded automatic gantry barrier
  • Cut and seal induction loop into driveway pavers
  • Install and wire vehicle loop detector (PD-132)
  • Wire V-servo gate controller and power supply unit
  • Install safety sensors and barrier boom arm with reflective strips
  • Test barrier operation, vehicle detection and safety functions

Work Performed

  • Removed the faulty existing gantry barrier unit
  • Installed the new yellow ESE-branded gantry barrier housing
  • Cut the induction loop groove in the cobblestone driveway and sealed the loop wire
  • Mounted and wired the V-servo gate controller with digital display
  • Installed the PD-132 vehicle loop detector and power supply unit
  • Fitted the red-and-white reflective boom arm and safety sensors
  • Conducted full operational and safety testing of the barrier system

Materials Replaced

  • New Automatic Gantry Barrier Unit (ESE-branded)
  • V-Servo Gate Controller
  • PD-132 Vehicle Loop Detector
  • Barrier Boom Arm with Reflective Strips
  • Induction Loop Cable and Sealant
  • Power Supply Unit

Result

The new gantry barrier system was successfully installed and commissioned. The barrier now operates reliably with automatic vehicle detection via the induction loop, restoring secure and smooth vehicle access control at Tanglin Regency.

Recommendation

Schedule periodic inspection of the induction loop, boom arm mechanism and controller to ensure continued reliable operation, and keep the control cabinet sealed against moisture.

Technician Notes

New gantry barrier installed, induction loop cut and sealed, controller and loop detector wired and tested. Boom arm operation verified with QC check on site.
