Issue Reported

The sliding gate was producing excessive noise during opening and closing operations.

Site Findings

After inspection, it was found that the existing lower rollers and upper guide rollers had worn due to prolonged operation. The worn components caused misalignment and excessive friction, resulting in abnormal noise during gate movement.

Job Scope

  • Inspect complete sliding gate mechanism
  • Replace worn lower rollers
  • Replace upper guide rollers
  • Adjust gate alignment
  • Lubricate moving components
  • Test opening and closing operation
  • Perform safety and operational checks

Work Performed

  • Removed worn lower rollers and upper guide rollers
  • Installed new lower roller set and upper guide roller set
  • Re-aligned gate tracking for smooth travel
  • Lubricated moving components with WD-40 and industrial grease
  • Conducted multiple open/close test cycles and safety checks

Materials Replaced

  • Lower Roller Set
  • Upper Guide Roller Set

Result

The gate is now operating smoothly with significantly reduced noise. Gate alignment has been restored and normal operation verified after multiple testing cycles.

Recommendation

Continue preventive maintenance and lubrication every 3–6 months to extend the lifespan of the gate system and minimise wear on mechanical components.

Technician Notes

Wear pattern on the original rollers indicated prolonged operation without lubrication. New nylon rollers installed with proper lubrication should significantly extend service interval.
