Project Overview
ESE delivered a fully integrated security and electrical package at Woodlands Connection, an industrial commercial vehicle entry and loading facility in Woodlands Sector 2. The project combined a License Plate Recognition (LPR) system, a CCTV surveillance system, an automatic gantry barrier system, supporting electrical works, and a network firewall setup to secure vehicle access and centralise site monitoring.
Scope of Works
- Site survey and cable routing planning across the vehicle entry and loading bay area
- Supply and installation of LPR cameras and pedestals at the guardhouse entry lanes
- Supply and installation of CCTV cameras covering entry, loading bay and perimeter
- Installation of an automatic gantry barrier system with inductive loop detection
- Electrical works — distribution board wiring, junction boxes and power supply to all systems
- Cable tray and trunking installation along building facade and overhead structures
- High-level access works using a cherry picker for overhead cable routing and mounting
- Firewall setup and network configuration for secure CCTV and LPR data traffic
- Testing, commissioning and handover with live view verification
Challenges
The Woodlands Connection site is an active industrial vehicle entry point with a 4.5m overhead clearance gantry, requiring installation works to be carried out without disrupting vehicle movement and loading operations. High-level cable routing and mounting along the building facade and overhead structure required cherry-picker access, while inductive loop cutting for the gantry barrier had to be performed on the live roadway with traffic control measures in place. The integration of LPR, CCTV, barrier control and a secured network firewall required careful coordination between the electrical, mechanical and IT configuration stages.
Our Solution
ESE deployed a multi-disciplinary team to execute the works in coordinated stages. A cherry picker was used for high-level cable tray and trunking installation along the building facade and the 4.5m overhead gantry structure. Inductive loops were cut and sealed into the roadway to trigger the automatic gantry barrier, while LPR pedestals and CCTV cameras were mounted on dedicated posts with junction boxes wired back to the electrical distribution board. All power and signal wiring was terminated cleanly at the distribution board, and a network firewall was configured on-site to secure CCTV and LPR data traffic before final commissioning and live view verification.
Result / Outcome
- Integrated LPR, CCTV, gantry barrier and network security from a single provider
- Automated vehicle entry and exit with license plate recognition linked to the gantry barrier
- Comprehensive CCTV coverage of entry, loading bay and perimeter zones
- Clean electrical distribution board wiring and cable management across the facade
- Secured network firewall protecting CCTV and LPR system data traffic
- Minimal disruption to ongoing vehicle and loading operations during installation
